FURUNO’s new man in KZN

Meet Jono Watkins

FURUNO South Africa - Powered by Taylor Marine SA is pleased to introduce Jono Watkins, our Light Marine Sales Representative for KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

Born and raised in Durban, Jono has spent much of his life on the ocean, with fishing being a passion since he was just three or four years old. Growing up on the water gave him a natural interest in boats, fishing and marine electronics. He fondly recalls his father asking him to keep an eye on the sounder or navigate the boat back up for another drift. Those early experiences sparked an interest in marine technology that has developed into a career with Furuno.

Since joining the KZN team, Jono has embraced the opportunity to expand his technical knowledge of Furuno’s extensive product range, from established equipment to the latest marine electronics technology. His practical fishing experience, combined with his growing product expertise, puts him in a strong position to understand customers’ needs, recommend the right equipment and help them get the most out of their investment.

For Jono, the opportunity to combine his career with his passion for fishing is what makes the role particularly rewarding.

“What I enjoy most about my role is being able to work with marine electronics while staying closely connected to fishing, boating and the ocean. I’m passionate about helping customers choose the right equipment and making sure they know how to get the best use out of it."

“I look forward to building strong relationships with our KZN customers, sharing my knowledge and helping fellow fishermen get more out of their time on the water. There’s nothing more satisfying than hearing a customer tell me how easy their Furuno equipment is to use and how it’s improved their fishing experience.”

With his enthusiasm for fishing, first-hand experience on the water and commitment to customer service, Jono is looking forward to supporting the recreational boating and sportfishing community throughout KwaZulu-Natal.
