GPS Rollover on January 2, 2022

This is to inform all users of FURUNO GPS products that specific GPS receivers expect GPS rollover on January 2, 2022.


Some older model GPS receivers will face issues mentioned below, and communicational equipment may provide errors when the GPS receivers provide past date information to them. After the date of GPS rollover, it is highly possible that the GPS receivers installed on a commercial vessel do not pass a survey for safety radio and equipment.


Models Affected

Models which are required to conduct counter measures to be taken are as below.


Basically all serial number which are written on the below “Internal Core No.” and “Program Number” are subject to this GPS roll over. Regarding serial number that we can identify to some extent, we wrote targeted serial number as “Before -” and ”After -”



Your GPS may require a Software Upgrade or Replacement

For those GPS Receivers, Satellite compass, AIS and SSAS that can be updated by software please contact your local Authorised Furuno Service Agent. Some older units may need to be replaced.
